Use your own head, not ours.
Many years ago a friend was trying to come up with a name for his band, which was resident at a club.many suggestions were noted, and they put it to a club vote. The winner was "Wide-Eyed and Fretless".
No, I don't know if it had a 50% majority.
Couldn't you use the rude Irish word for a rude English word? That way you'd have one of those cool, single-word Irish band names that actually meant something like "The W*nkers."
Diddley Nut and The American Underwear;
Reborn Diddley and The Dolls;
Diddley Since Seclusion;
Diddley Despair;
and, Accomplice of the Diddley Paranoia (amongst many others).
I don't get it... this is the second time Cliffhanger has asked for suggestions for band names, and both times they never come back to the thread and say anything or thank people for the suggestions or tell us anything else.
"Phantom Button", i asked for suggestions and you didin't have one so why bother reading or replying to the thread?
Many thanks to everyone else who contributed though.

Ideas of a name for a trad group
Any suggestions for the above would be welcome. A name with just one word would be preferable

Ok, then the name of the band should be what you suggest, Preferable
Don't know why you want to call it that. But I guess it is preferable.

The Irish word for 'word' (focal) sounds like 'f u c k-a l l'.

Well, there used to be a trad-ish band (of sorts) round our way called "Feckless"... the name sounded better than the band it has to said.
