"The Fochabers Fiddlers" are certainly still in existence. About 20 of them turned up at the NAFCO fiddle festival in Aberdeen this past July. Calum Stewart is from around there, but is probably too busy touring to be around much. Duncan Wood is from Cullen, but I'm not sure if he's still around that area or not.

There were also 2 uilleann pipers around a couple of years ago. I think one was around Forres, and one is probably still in Grantown-on-Spey. I could send out a few emails, if you like, but I haven't heard from either of them in a while. Would you care to put something about your musical history in your biography, please ?
We've got also whistle, flute and concertina players, as well as at least one accordeonist, guitarists, a mandola player, fiddlers, singers etc. There is also a weekly session near Forres. PM me for more info, preferably with your real name. Cheers,
At the Findhorn Center I met a uilleann piper, flute player who had been living there for some years. I think they lived in Forres itself. Rory was an American from California, a nice man, good musician. This was in back 1996, but I've heard that he is still there

There is also the Dufftown Stramash (see http://www.thesession.org/sessions/display/2322) every Monday, starting at 19:30. Regularly attended by fiddlers, box players, pipers and singers.
