Stolen concertina in radisson hotel, galway city (30/08/10)
158398!!!
Thats the serial number of my concertina.
Keep an eye out guys
Its a 36 key ebony anglo concertina with a brass guide that holds the strap in place missing on the right hand side.
also one of the endbolts on the right hand side is missing.
It was handed out by mistake on Monday 30/08/10 at 5:30pm in the RADDISON BLU IN GALWAY CITY.
its all on camera and it appears that the person who took it doesnt have a clue what it is.

@wounded hussar. Bullsh*t. I live in Ireland. "Most people" who are serious players wouldn't find your hurtful comment amusing, no matter where they live. Especially not if they've had an instrument stolen.

Well, that's a relief anyway.
And now the owner knows what make it is. That's something. My wife knows hers is a blue car, with a silly sticker on the boot.

One critical detail you seem to have left out is the name of the maker...

Do they hand these out often - like, is it worth a trip west to pick one up

Re: No funny
The above comment isn't in the least funny. if you've ever had an instrument stolen you won't find much humor in the above thoughtless comment.

Ah, a bit of a culture clash so, I detect. Most people in Ireland appreciate a bit of a laugh and a look at things sideways..

Do we have a makers' name for it yet ?
Otherwise, James, I'm afraid you don't have a clue what it is either.

The link to concertina.net identifies it as a Lachenal.

BTW- the concertina was recovered.
