An aging Bliss finally makes YouTube!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
An aging Bliss finally makes YouTube!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry fans, I haven't been able to access the site for some time.
That was the good news.
The bad news? Recently during half time break in a GAA football match we had an impromptu session. Someone recorded it.
Alas poor Bliss is using a broken beater, and is clearly suffering from exhaustion.
Poor playing conditions says he. However after about two minutes of the tape he amazingly improves, with a little effort.
But still a poor show from a man who was a living legend.
Old age comes to us all.
Years ago when I first appeared here as the greatest living bodhran player people wanted to see footage. Alas, father time has caught up, and I have now retired from public performance.
The struggling fiddle player you ask? my old friend J########H who posts on here.
Try to perseverve. It gets slightly better as a bit of effort is made.
Re: An aging Bliss finally makes YouTube!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, BB. I had you pictured as one of those ripped guys on the cover of a romance novel, all abs and flowing mullet. Sigh. Another illusion shattered.....
Re: An aging Bliss finally makes YouTube!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was wondering about the tipper inspection too, was it cracking or did you lose a tip or somewhat?
Thanks for sharing.

Believe it or not it is a tipper I rarely use. it actually has lead weights built into the ends, and they fall out. Hence tapping it on the ground to put them back in place.
Re: An aging Bliss finally makes YouTube!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rook,
Living in New Hampshire. Anywhere near Manchester as last week I was playing music with a flute player called Peter from Westport who runs a pub there.
Re: An aging Bliss finally makes YouTube!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I loved BB's breath-taking claims for himself. I saw them as splendid wind-ups. It also occurred to me that it was not impossible that they might actually be true.
Rest in peace, bodhran bliss. I never met you but read your posts with interest and enjoyment.

Re: An aging Bliss finally makes YouTube!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All that and you still had time to score the winning try for Antrim? Impressive. You've still got it man.
Great clip of yer man on the fiddle too - loved his take on clumsy lover at the end.

You were staring at the beater in consternation at one point.
I think the pilot light blew out on it!

Good stuff, BB.

Your fiddler and backer sounded pretty sharp, too.
I was wondering about the tipper inspection too, was it cracking or did you lose a tip or somewhat?
Or did the drummer finally realize,
"Hey, wait a minute - All it does is make the drum go "THUMP!"
Thanks for sharing.

Re: An aging Bliss finally makes YouTube!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BB:

Actually, I have tried out one or two of those tippers, Bliss.
I calculated they would take some getting used to, however, so I stuck with my traditional, non-toxic green-friendly biodegradable emergency kindling.
It is even recycled - it use to be a field drum stick.
Clunky, but it gets the job done.

PS: BB:
It occurred to me, just now -
If someone tells you to "get the lead out",
what will you do?
Cordially yours,

I don't think anyone else could have left a more fitting goodbye than the man himself has done here. Lovely character! You'll be missed bodhran bliss
