Yes! I, hopefully, should be going for part of it. I'll get there on Sunday and have to leave early Thursday, so I'll miss a good deal, but from what I've heard, it's gonna be good!
I'll be there, with wife, bouzouki, and No.1 Son.
Look out for the Racker, Racker Donnelly, he doesn't have a biog or picture in the programme, but he's brilliant. He used to come to our sessions, but he's moved to Chiswick, so we don't see him so often.
I'm taking D/G squeezy thing, fiddle, wife and mi dad! Thinking of moving in to The Elsinore for the week. Goathland Plough Stots' Sword Weekend is the weekend after. Our lot are dancing on the Sunday. Steam locos!
Just got back from Whitby and slightly disappointed this year.
Although I didn't attend many of the official sessions (and none of the paid ones), I spent most of my time wandering from pub to pub trying to find something decent.
The Station had a decent guitar/harp/mandolin session one day but had acoustic rock songs in the back room.
Middle Earth had an old accordion chap playing - no one allowed to join in, and some hit-and-miss guitar stuff outside.
Ship was quiet one time I went in and too crowded the next.
Elsinore I heard was decent but later on, I didn't go in.
Just one of those years where I got unlucky I think, although I don't think it's ever as good when the Regatta is on (which it was).

Re: Whitby Folk Week - how is the bridge ?
Any truth to the rumours that the bridge is down, and you have to decide which side of the river you're on or face a long walk ?
