Identify the tune...

Identify the tune...

Hey folks, I've need to identify a tune, played by Salsa Celtica.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nbef0Cm8uDk

It sounds either like something they wrote themselves
or one that came out of Astorias.

It's a bit hard since they're doing massive variations on this one AND the percussion is really loud..

The finder will win a lifetime of prosperity.

Thanks!

Re: Identify the tune...

Er, isn't it called 'Ya Llego', like it says?

Re: Identify the tune...

I.. don't think so..

I think it's the name of the song, not the tune (notice they're singing "Ya Llego").

Also, I need its notes and not only the name, and I can't
find any "Ya Llego" reel on the net...

It sounds to me like the tune was written as an instrumental part to the song. As for getting the notes, I doubt whether Salsa Celtica have published band scores. Somebody on this site could probably do a transcription, but why not take on the challenge of figuring it out for yourself? It'll make you a better musician.

Re: Identify the tune...

By the way, the reason I'm sniffing around this tune is because I wish to add it to my band's repertoire and if this isn't traditional, and Salsa Celtica actually wrote it, it'll be a bit awkward (or have copywrite issues)

Re: Identify the tune...

Have you tried contacting them via their website? http://www.salsaceltica.com/contact/
Someone there should be able to find you the answer.

Re: Identify the tune...

I thought of doing that eventually - As I've said before, I wasn't sure if this one's traditional or written by them. So far it seems that they composed it after some time I've been trying to find it on the net. I suppose it's time to ask them. Thanks.
