Twice this week, and a number of times previously, I have wanted to post a music file to a discussion on this site, to illustrate a point, but I don't know how to do that. Can anyone enlighten me? I use Windows XP.
Do you mean an audio file or sheet music? In either case all I think you can do here is to post a link.
The only way music can be posted here is in ABC format, which carries only the very basic information, and may not suit your requirements.
Another possibility is Media Convert where you can convert a media file from your computer & get a link, but that usually only works for a 24 hour period.
Thanks for the help, especially you, Random; and you are correct about "where", although I was able to take a shortcut with ethical blend's assistance.
I'll go and continue plodding and stumbling my way through electronic mysteries now.

Re: Posting Music Files
You could put it up on soundcloud or somewhere like that and then link to it from a post here.Making sure you preface the address with http://

A good few people seem to use www.box.net for that sort of thing

Re: Posting Music Files
If the audio file isn't already online you will need to upload a file (probably mp3) as mentioned in the 1st couple of responses;

http://www.box.net/
Oldstrings, I take it this is one of the places where you wanted to post a music file ~
