Here I Am Amongst You - Len Graham Book on Songs, Dance Music and Traditions of Joe Holmes (1906 - 1978)

Len was on Radio Ulster last night talking about this and it was a joy to hear a couple of those old tracks of himself & Joe singing together.

Does anyone here actually remember meeting Joe or hearing him sing?

Cheers
Dick

Jim, I'm told there's a section on Fiddle Tunes too, with: " .. Some interesting polkas and mazurkas .. " ;-)

I'll race you to the shop, for it! :-P

"Joe Holmes: here I am amongst you" by Len Graham!

I think I'm going to have to convince someone to get me a copy for my next birthday, or Christmas... :-(

Re: Congratulations to Len Graham!

Good man Len, I got him to sign my copy at the Spanish Point launch - can't wat to get stuck into it.
Belfast City Library and the Irish Trad Music Archive in Dublin have digitised reel to reel recordings of the Belfast Sunflower Folk Club of the '70's and '80's. Joe and Len are in the Archive - great recordings, atmosphere - you can smell the cigarette smoke nearly! The tapes were bequeathed by the late Geoff Harden
