Not trying to be annoying, or a newbie here, but I've fallen in love with these tunes, and cannot find their names anywhere. If anyone knows, please could you tell me?
Also I have a teeny bit of an obsession with slip jigs....I absolutely love them, both to play and dance, so if you wouldn't mind sharing you're favourites with me, cos I'm always looking for more nice tunes.
Butterfly, Deirdre's Fancy, Kid on the Mountain, drops of Brandy, Flying to the Fleadh and The first Slip. The Kid on the Mountain is probably my all-time favourite slip-jig and I don't think I will get tired of it!
My favourites are probably Cahiramee, Eagle's Whistle, and The Snowy Path. Though my 'all time favourite', that I could listen to on loop play, is 'Farewell to Whalley Range'.
Thanks for the 'recommendations'...I'll ABC 'em then dig the flute out.
Ditto the Rakes of Westmeath. Anyone know the story behind it's other name, The Blast of Wind? (If it's a euphemism, it must've been a mighty "blast" that inspired it. )

Re: Slip jig name/your favourites
The Night Poor Larry Was Stretched is a great tune. And not just for the lurid name. It's a sad haunting tune to my ears.
I'm also enduringly smitten by Kid on the Mountain. So many ways to play the different parts! kidonthemountain is my username on youtube.
