Tune Requests

Occasionally I look at the Requests sections in Tunes and sometimes submit a tune which appears to match a particular request. Unfortunately, this can result in guess-work on my part, especially if the title requested is a misspelling or is too vague - in which latter case it would tend to be ignored.
Two points come to mind. A comment field for the requester so that as much information regarding the tune can be supplied - e.g. what type, where it was heard, the performer, etc, obviously not all of which may be known, but every little helps when one is trying to track down a request.
Secondly, the case of misspellings. I've noticed a request for "Jacks The Lad", which is clearly meant to be "Jack's The Lad", which I submitted sometime ago. So I amended the information in the already submitted tune to reflect this misspelling. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a mechanism to reflect this in the Requests lists by the automatic deletion from that list of "Jacks The Lad".

Re: Tune Requests

I agree.
There are two tunes requested that are here but are spelt slightly differently : "the Banshee", requested as "the bansee" and " Poor but happy at 53", requested as "Sad but happy at 53".
I don't know if they're the same tunes or not but it's fairly likely and i know how frusterating it can be if you're looking for a tune and can't find it simply because of a spelling or title indifference. Is there a way of telling these people the right name/spelling of the tune their looking for other than by sending them an email that i just haven't been able to find yet? If not then maybe a comments section would be good like Trevor suggested.
Otherwise i think the requests section is great:)
