Hello all - I recently heard about an octave mandola (mandolin) made by Doug Gibson from Ireland. Does anyone know about Doug and his instruments? Thanks in advance for any comments.
I've met him. Nice man, nice player, plays a nice mandola. I don't have his contact details, but I know he lives in or around Feakle and would be known to most people in the area - to those connected with music, at least. You could try contacting Peppers pub - or any of the music pubs in Feakle.
You might also try the IrTrad mailing list (I assume it still exists), as I know one or two of his acquaintances post there.

Re: Doug Gibson instruments?
As an alternative - can anyone send me email contact information for Doug? I understand he is a regular session player at the Feakle Festival.

Alternatively, this lady http://www.kamcollective.com/listitem.asp?itemid=486 , whom I think I've seen in the same sessions as him, might be able to point you in the right direction.
