Oh joy! My Vuvuzuela has just arrived, can’t wait to take it to the session tonight. I know it’s more of a world music than ITM instrument but I reckon I could learn either the ‘Bee’s Wing’ or ‘Catching the Buzz’ by tonight if someone could show me the dot.
Avoid the Silesian-made ones. The potato-mache frets don't last; I've had four in for re-fretting in the last month. And the woolen strings are prone to moth attack.
Congratulations! After twenty-one hard years of work, you will emerge as a true vuvuzele player. Keep at it! For now, be content to drone for a few bars. Tunes, articulation, nyah, lift and intonation will come in time. You are taking your first, few baby steps on a long road to musical fulfillment. Best of luck.
Latest news is that the vuvuzela is not being banned from the stadiums - my guess is that the social repercussions of banning it would far outweigh its 127dB massed sound output in the stadiums. Come back, ye goat-whackers and cloth-eared strummers - all is forgiven!
Tony Hinnigan, who knows a thing or two about the playing of exotic wind instruments, gives his considered opinion of the vuvuzela in its World Cup context on http://tonyhinnigan.com/news.php. Look for the entry dated 13/06/2010.

I WANT ONE !!
These things always turn up in Durham about a decade after they were the now thing, so if I get one it'll probably be a tribute act.

Flight of the Bumble Bee? More like the Blight of the Fumble Bee with that thing.

Re: Vuvuzuela
Catch the unique sound of the massed vuvuzelas while you can - if you're that way way inclined - the authorities are thinking of banning it from the stadiums - see

Looks like their days are numbered, at least in the virtual world (i.e., for TV watchers). Here's a story about the "Audionamix Vuvuzela Remover ":
