I type this very nervously. I very rarely contribute anything to the Session although I am an avid reader. I am a ''relative beginner' and have learnt so much from reading all of the posting's on this site - it is a great resource.
Well I am not sure whether this question should be posted here or in the 'Sessions' section. Hence my nervousness. Anyway here goes:
I am visiting Big Bear, California for a few weeks over Christmas and I wondered whether there are any ITM addicts in the town? If there are it would be great to meet up for a few tunes (not to mention the beers). I have checked the Sessions section and although there are lots of sessions around California I could not find any in Big Bear. Thanks in advance and 'keep the music strong' ................. Bob
If anyone does have any information on sessions on Big Bear, I'd appreciate it if they posted it in the "sessions" section, not here.
Meanwhile, you might try going to the "members" section and doing a search on "California". Then you can get directly in touch with people near Big Bear.
Thanks for the tip Jeremy. I had already searched the members section to see whether there was anyone registered from the area. No joy although there are a number from @ 100 miles away. What I was really hoping for was anyone who was travelling to Big Bear for the Christmas holiday rather than a regular session. Big Bear gets a huge number of visitors during the winter. It is such a small town that I realise that a regular session is extremely unlikely. I will certainly add the info to the sessions section if I do discover one. Here's hoping ...... Bob (BTW: Great site Jeremy and thanks for all of your hard work it is really appreciated)
Hi Bob - just like you I lurk big time!! read your profile - no mention of Bodhran! I started on Bodhran and then a friend lent me a fiddle to store while she went to the south pole, just hang it in a the room where the kids play she said - and I thought if it was vibration she wanted then I could do that - and now both the kids are learning with me, I can't get to sleep at night cos I've got a head full of tunes and I hardly ever practice my drum!
Music in 'them thar hills' ...............
