Check out www.zoukfest.com for information on the newest raffle instrument, a fantastic mandolin made by Australian luthier Graham McDonald. Top is Sitka spruce and body and sides are tulip satinwood.
I have had the pleasure of seeing and playing this mandolin and it is fantastic. It is loud enough to hold its own in a session. Beautiful to look at, play, and listen to.
Sound clips will be posted at the website later this month.
Only 100 tickets will be sold and we expect them to go quickly.

And, there is still time to register for ZoukFest. Dorm rooms may still be possible on a space available basis, but can't be guaranteed as the University has other groups using the dorms too. The special rate at the Best Western is great too.
Graham's Bouzouki Project and Mando Project books are well-written, by the way. I picked them up for ideas on some repair projects I have, and now I'm contemplating an actual build project.
Where in New Mexico are you? Are you coming to ZoukFest?
Also we have a session in Albuquerque on the second Saturday of the month at Brickyard Pizza on Central across from UNM. But, please bring your melody instruments and leave the bones and drum at home.
