I think I'm going to take up a new position, as of now.
It may even be to the liking of people like llig.
Croxton; learn to use your ears. Someone who needs a third party to write it out, so they can copy it note for note, is no musician.
Yes. Now come out of the bathroom already. We all know what you're doing in there. You're not fooling anyone. We saw you take Dad's Playboy magazine in there with you.
You just can't get the staff nowadays can you....or even medium quality discussions. The barrel has by now been scraped so much it's leaking. There's a hole in my bucket dear lisa dear lisa
you're right what was I thinking. Does anybody have Thin Lizzy's version? I Know this is off topic but when singing diiddle-dee diddle-dum does the emphasis land on the diddle, the dee or the dum?
I'm just gonna say that Metallica's version is awesome. Right up there with Trans Am doing Wildwood Flower for my favorite reinterpretations of traditional songs.
Croxton may actually be on to something - which one of you techy-computer nerds can come up with a decent version of something like Guitar Hero for but Irish music?
Anyone up for Button Box Hero? I'd love to fly through Bucks of Oranmore on a Wii....
One more question and I promise I'll stop. WTF is up with Michael Flatley's phony brough? Just wonderin. BTW Michael Flatley's phony brough would be a great name for a band I think I'm gonna buy the domain.
I had a cousin once with a mono-brough. It took years of tweezing before she could finally claim two eye broughs - one over each eye. Quite embarrassing really.
The best version I ever heard was by Noel Murphy. I think he might have had 14 pints by the time he sang it and he let me play the harmonica with him. I bet he can't remember. I think one or two verses may have come round more than once. Good days, good days...

Re: whiskey in the jar
Heh, if he learned to use his ears, he wouldn't want "Whiskey in the Jar," and certainly not Metallica's spin on it.

P.S.
Type in your title request here and you'll get several versions of tab for Metallica's setting:

Ugh. For heaven's sake play the Thin Lizzy version. Phillo was the greatest and one of our own.

Phony brogue? or Phony brough? He's worked pretty hard on faking both in order to achieve commercial success.

As to the earlier discussion - I think I preferred the Hayseed Dixies, or whatever they're called.
If you're gonna mix your genres.
