There is a tune in the database at http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/6961 called Galician Muiñeira, or Galician Jig. Does anyone have a more particular name for this tune?
You're right CreadurMawnOrganig, that's the Muiñeira do Areal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUw2p2Uk7KI
It was composed by Ramón Sumay from Catoira (Pontevedra), who passed away in 2003 at the age of 85.
To my knowledge, 'Areal' is not the name of a village, it just means 'large sandy beach'. Lots of sandy beaches in the area, I don't know which one he was referring to.
If you like Galician music you could want to download the 'Cancionero musical de Galicia', a collection of songs and tunes collected by Casto Sampedro (1848-1937): http://rs401.rapidshare.com/files/274855413/Cancionero_Musical_de_Galicia.pdf (110 MB)

I don't think they're titled in the same way that Irish tunes are. They tend to be named after the dances, much like Breton tunes.

I think that it might be "Muneira do Areal", though I'm not sure.

Lots are named after the town or village associated with the tune. I'm in the middle of a bender learning a bunch of these types of tunes, very fun.
