Can anyone help me with the name of this tune done by Barney McKenna???
Can anyone help me with the name of this tune done by Barney McKenna???
I have heard this tune many times through out my life. My Grandad used to hum it all the time when I was a child but I cannot remember much other than the melody. I found a video of Barney and Eamon from the Dubliners playing it live. It's the slow tune that Barney begins with before he goes into The Maid behind the Bar. I have left the You tube link below. Please have a listen and see if you can help me out.

The tune is 'The Old House' sung by many great tenors over the years. I remember John McCormack singing it on an old 78 record in the 1940s. You should have no trouble finding the lyrics on the net.
