Contacting Rab Pinkman for permission/royalties.

My band is heading to the recording studio in about 2 weeks. I've been trying to get hold of Rab Pinkman to inquire about using Itchy Fingers in one of our original compositions.

I have a number for him, but never an answer or voicemail. Can anyone help find me a number for him or the publishing house that has the distribution rights?

Along those lines, we're finding that many of the tunes we thought were traditional are actually more recent. They've been taught in the old tradition and some even have 3 or 4 different names and authors. How do we go about getting permission for these tunes (that aren't likely even officially copywritten in the first place)?

We're doing the celtic rock thing, so we are really only using bits and pieces of the 'trad' tunes, but want to make sure we give credit (and payment) where it is due.

Thanks!

I think I have the wrong Pinkman. This one is probably Rab's cousin "Bobby". I honestly do not known. Rab Pinkman, I think, is in Edinburgh.

You need to contact the 'Performing Rights Society' for this info.
