Re: graffton tenor banjos

One of my students plays one of these:

and it seems and sounds like a very nice instrument for the price...plays well, well set up, doesnt feel "cheap".

Re: graffton tenor banjos

I'm very pleased with the Grafton Clipper I got as a second instrument (to a fiddle) a year ago.

I'm very pleased with my Grafton Clipper. The banjo is good quality and is set up carefully. Andy really knows what he's talking about and is very helpful.

Re: graffton tenor banjos

I've had one - good value for money and a good stage instrument too
I had the basic "Clipper" then traded it in to Andy for a Goldtone

Re: graffton tenor banjos

I can't vouch for the Grafton 'cos I haven't tried it but I can for Andy. It took three visits with banjos going back and forth and me being a bit of a pain (always recommended) before he provided exactly what I was after. The reason it took so long was because I had an idea of the sound I wanted but didnt know how much that sound would cost. I had to up my initial budget. But he was fair, informative, competitively priced, (a little tight with the part exchange price, beware) 9/10 but more than that he's also fun, and a treat of a day out.
