The tune names are listed in the video, but I can't find them here on thesession. If you know the tunes by other names, please let me know. Im especially interested in the title of the 3rd tune.
To my ear, most of that sounds like the fluter's own original tunes. Some passing resemblances to Greenfields of Rossbeigh and Fermoy Lasses within one tune or another. That video clip will likely be your best source for learning the tunes, if that's what you're after.
I always learn tunes by ear, so that was my plan to begin with, but I would like to know if somebody might recognize some of the tunes under different titles. I just hate to not be able to refer to a name : )
I guess that if this is unknown to the people here, it's most likely original compositions, which is fine since the names are written in the description bar.
The third one, is Jimmy's Return, which I learned from Sharon Shannon recordings, I don't know who wrote it, or what the proper name is. Although I think it's usually played in B dorian, and her B part is a little different
I find this kind of playing 'mish mash' to say the least. I always get the feeling its a case of get these tunes played as quickly as poss' and get rid of them. I don't really want to be here.
Yep, I wasn't too taken by the playing on the video, for the same reason Free Reed gives. But I've heard far worse, and it's just one clip, on YouTube. For all we know, Tomasso and friends could be good crack and fun to play tunes with in a session.
The second one is from Traveling Show where it is named "Comb Your Hair And Curl It" but the first tune is not off the same album.
The third tune is not Dunrobin Castle, at least not anything like the way I learned it, or have heard it played.

Re: Need some help: ID-ing tunes
The second tune isn't Dusty Miller--it's a 6/8 or 3/4 variant (as recorded by Harry Bradley) of Comb Your Hair and Curl It (a slip jig).
I'll post the abcs from your youtube clip here: http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/1030

Re: Need some help: ID-ing tunes
Thanks for the feedback. And especially Miss Lonelyhearts for posting the ABC.
Jimmy's Return is also known as Dunrobin Castle. I think he got the second and the third tune from the Dervish album called Travelling Show.
