Loved her first two albums and look forward to hearing the new one. There's something truly magical (be it sad or joyful) about Gaidhlic music. We have such a strong linguistic and musical bond between both countries...well, especially with Donegal!
Guím chuile rath ort leis an albam úr Julie agus tá súil agam go bhfeicfidh muid arais in Éirinn tú..
She is an awesome talent, I went to quite a bit of effort to find her first album, and am pleased that amazon.com seems to be making more imports available to us yanks, making it easier to order the newer stuff.
Went to see her at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester a couple of weeks ago on the first night of her new tour. I've seen her and the band twice before and can't recommend them highly enough; they are all exceptional musicians and though the mix was a bit too bassy (too Dizee Rascal for me!) it was a superb gig.
Julie, Eamon and the band are very approachable and always chat after the gigs, and I quizzed Eamon about his bouzouki before phoning Joe Foley to have one exactly the same made. Loverly people, wonderful music and always a joy.
P.S. Check out any of Duncan Chisholm's albums as they are really quite something.
The Trip To Galway on her cd is definitely not that in O'Neills', plus only one part is played, in A.
A simple enough tune, but needing more parts.
Any suggestions ?
PS Nicholas - stop it at once, you'll go blind.
Anyway, she's more probably a silkie.

Musically - and in other ways, for all I know - she can do no wrong. I look forward to hearing this one.
She came to a gig in Durham not long back but I missed it.

Fantastic musician. Am looking forward to this one.
BTW the tune at :55 - The Cat and The Dog
It is a traditional Scottish West Coast Pipe tune and a little unusual in being a Scottish slip jig.
