there's a nice BB about ten miles away in Ballyjamesduff if anyone is interested. i know, i'm from there!
here's the site, but book in quick.......

Poor Paddy Reilly....he turned to the left at the bridge of Finea and stopped when halfway to Cootehill...In other words, the man was completely lost. He's probably still wandering around out there.
The man who sent him astray 'Percy French' use to live here when he worked in Cavan Town. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2457/3755823304_04a4e616cd_o.jpg
Yes, old Percy got around, didn´t he ! From Clare to Cavan including all points of the compass. Wasn´t he an inspector of drains or something like that ?
They still haven´t found out where Petravore is, although someone claimed to have seen a signpost in Leitrim pointing to it.
Floss is a knowledgeable man who lives in Leitrim, maybe he could throw some light on it. In any case, It would probably be too far from Cavan town to be considered as a Fleadh B&B.
Well, Murfbox, thanks for the compliment, but while I do know that Percy worked as an Inspector of Drains for the Board of Works in Cavan (and the County Museum in Ballyjamesduff has excellent displays on his life), I haven't a clue where Petravore is.
There's a suggestion here - http://www.mudcat.org/thread.cfm?threadid=82749 - that the place's name might be a corruption of a pub's name, but I've not come across anything which verifies that.
As for accommodation for the Fleadh, well, Cavan town's not actually brimming with options. It would be well worth checking out Belturbet, Killeshandra, Butler's Bridge and, a little further afield, Virginia, Ballyconnell and Carrigallen.
Two or three years ago there was a lady owner of a B&B in Cavan who turned away a couple because they were not married....It made the papers and the TV news at the time....
" We won't be having any of that that sort of thing under my roof " ...!
So stick to the music this time!

Re: Fleadh 2010
Try the Radisson Blue Cavan. It seems to be 2 miles out of town but might be ok.

Tell me, bjd, did Paddy Reilly ever go back ?
I feel the sentiments in the song need closure.

Re: Fleadh 2010
I stayed in Ballyjamesduff recently while at the Donovan concert and the Pucker himself sang come back Paddy Reilly. Dunno if Paddy took any notice.

There's a tale that The Leitrim Observer reported a while back which might shed some light on its location - http://www.leitrimobserver.ie/corraleehan-aughawillan/CoraleehanAughawillan-Community-News--14.1629143.jp - but there's no townland in Leitrim called Petravore (or anything like it).
There's a suggestion here - http://www.mudcat.org/thread.cfm?threadid=82749 - that the place's name might be a corruption of a pub's name, but I've not come across anything which verifies that.
