This may have been dealt with before but....
I've just been listening to a Joanie Madden record and she is described as playing an air whistle. I can get the same sound through my lips but is there actually an instrument? All I find on Google is what I call Air Horns for trucks etc!
Its a technique on the whistle...rest the whistle on your bottom lip and blow over the top, this creates the air sound. You can still get the notes and it's a good way to practice if you don't want to be heard!

Re: Air Whistle
I do this often during odd moments - watching tv, cooking etc - only
when I'm alone in the room though. It's not a good marriage-strengthener.

Re: Air Whistle
But its not such a marriage-weakener as playing the whistle out loud before breakfast, or after bedtime.
