We all know the one about the Sailor but here we have box player Vincent O'Halloran playing great music in a very precarious position - http://comhaltas.ie/blog/post/vince_ohalloran_of_innishbofin/ - I don't know how he got out there because his socks don't appear to be wet!
This piece gives a whole new meaning to "An raibh tú ag an gcarraig?" - see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKga5UuclNI. Vincent's answer is obviously "Bhí mé" but I wonder if he plays it; must watch the clips again.

The equivalent in the UK would be a morose s*d issuing his own passports.

For those of you who don't know, Newfoundland is usually called "The Rock"
and there are many many box players on The Rock.

Rock on Vincent! With those space limitations you're never going to be bothered by goatskin thumpers or any other form of accompaniment.

Re: Box player on the Rock!
I thought "The Rock" was Gibraltar - the bit that hangs off the end of Spain, not the ones in England.

Re: Box player on the Rock!
I wonder how many Gibraltar-based bands have called themselves The Apemen.
Shetland is known by Shetlanders as the Old Rock, but I don't know if this is a fanciful or an everyday label.

Re: Box player on the Rock!
He must have the microphone very close to the keyboard because you can hear the clanks of the buttons.

That's the teeth of the monsters / mermaids / Virgin Marys gnashing in time to his playing
