Arty McGlynn is bilingual! And not bad at his second language, either....

Nice playing. but we shouldn't be surprised. He's very good at playing trad, so why wouldn't he be good at jazz as well?
I suspect he's probably more than just bilingual.

I'm pretty sure that Arty first made his name in the 1960s with The Platters, a showband from Omagh. I suspect his jazz leanings came later.

Arty's mother was a fiddle player and his father was a box player. At the age of 5 he was a competent box player, then he started the banjo. His mother bought him his first guitar when he was 12. So, whatever his style, his roots are traditional.
