I am organising and agonising a "One last gig" for an old mate who is being treated for the spanish dancer and is facing a slipperydip finish
We were a band, many years ago we were all blood brothers and sisters, now we are otherwise engaged.
I used to be the manager of the band (and the percussionist) and now I am managing this finale.
HELP!
Kyogle, North Coast NSW Australia.
I have chosen to do it now 'cause the lad can still play OK, if only for an hour or so.
So it is the "bush bangers last gig"
If you are geographically indisposed, an amusing "telegram" would possibly help on the night.
Ross is a top mandolin player in the Irish vernacular and a great singer of the Aussie bush music. A very talented musician.
Sorry for being so soppy, it is not usually my style.
But Kyogle is only an hour and a half from Brisbane.
Just saw yer message on F/B and here too. Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to make it down on a thurs. night. Due to work. But if you personal message me your details and details of the evening... i'll be sure to send it to all my muso friends in the northern rivers area for ya.
I know how it will be for me. My friends will all be drinking & playing.
Then they'll turn to me, "this will probably be our last chance to play your favourite tunes with you. What would you like to hear R_N?"
I'll raise my glass & tell them. Of course they'll reply, "We don't do requests!" & continue to play whatever they like.
That's just the way it is with my mates.

Re: Sending off an old mate
mcknowall,
I'm sorry your friend isn't well. Perhaps a video of the gig
would be appreciated by his family.
I just gotta ask for a translation of "being treated for the spanish dancer" I've never heard that phrase before.
