Does anyone know the name of the third/last tune in this medley? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwMbu7tsjoU
They say that it was played by Liz Carrol, but I can't find a name of it, so I don't know where to get the music.
Thanks,
---Corey
Ooh, ooh, michael, let me get this one! (waving hand)
Corey, chances are that any dots you find won't be the same as the music you hear on the clip. Irish trad is an aural tradition--why not have a go at learning the tune by ear? (You can even transcribe it yourself from the clip if you really want the dots.)
The music is all there on the clip. It's never "all there" on the page. Give it a try and let us know how you get on.
Thanks guys. I almost always learn by ear, but I usually like to have music in case a particular not doesn't sound right, or I run into a trouble spot.

I also hate when I play something that I learned by ear, but don't yet know the name of, and everyone asks me what it's called so that they can go learn it too, and I don't have an answer for them.
Tune Identification...

Re: Tune Identification...
I'm probably wrong, but isn't that last tune "Sevens"?

Re: Tune Identification...
Yeah, nothing wrong with getting the name of a tune. Like getting the name of a new friend you've just met.
But the more you trust your ears (and not the dots), the easier those "trouble" spots get.

Re: Tune Identification...
The name is handy, but I will ask where people got the tune... it usually gives me a better chance of finding where to learn it.

Re: Tune Identification...
If I like a tune someone has played, I'll learn it from them.
