Gaelic College, Cape Breton Summer Fiddle School - Opinions?

Gaelic College, Cape Breton Summer Fiddle School - Opinions?

Does anyone have any experience with the fiddle classes offered as part of the summer school at the Gaelic College in Cape Breton? Experiences, opinions, etc. would be most welcome. I've been playing for about a year now and am at the intermediate-advanced beginner level. Also considering taking some of the step dancing classes offered there.

Thanks!

Re: Gaelic College, Cape Breton Summer Fiddle School - Opinions?

I went for two years as a Scottish Smallpipes student. I also took Step dancing classes as (very worth it, really helps with understanding the music) My girlfriend took the fiddle classes and she loved them. If it's Cape Breton music you're looking for than I wouldn't hesitate to go. I've since started playing fiddle myself and hope to make it back to the Gaelic College soon. It's gotten pretty exspenive though.

Summer in Cape Breton is hard to beat. There's a dance or Concert to go to every night.

I've also heard good things about the ceilidh trails school.
