I don't know if this was posted by anyone else. If so, I'm sorry but I searched but didn't see anything. This is a great deal.
The complete collection of 214 tunes, by pianist J.J. Sheridan, recorded in 2007, is available for download. $8.99 for the entire collection. It sells for $125 on CDs.
What does O' Carolan's music have in common with rap?
They are both available in "clean" and "explicit" versions. Yup, I had downloaded my copy of the Complete Works from the iTunes Store and found that tune 204 is listed as "Var. On the Scottish Air - C**k Up Your Beaver." I guess Amazon is selling the explict version, which they list as "...Cock Up Your Beaver. "
Aren't you glad the iTunes Store has someone looking out for our moral well being? I guess they aren't aware of the meaning of the term, which comes from a Burns poem and means something like "straighten your hat."
Re: Complete Works of O' Carolan for $8.99 at Amazon
Don't think it matters who plays Carolan or what you play it on - but on another list I subscribe to, a piano is described as "a harp in a coffin". Probably unfair!

Good for what it is, but doesn't do much for me really.

These were written for harp and the piano is a high tech harp so
what's wrong that?
