Hi. Matty here in Les-Alpes- Maritimes [between Nice and Dignes]. Keen to find a concertina player, preferably someone who can teach a beginner, is a bit of craic, likes nice cheese and wine, warm weather and the french alps and who could come and stay with us for a few weeks, anytime except August, do a few lessons, explore the area and have a nice cool time in a beautiful region. I play fiddle myself [more enthusiasm than expertise] , my wife has started concertina and really needs lessons. Flights are reasonable - Dublin to Nice or Cork to Nice- you'll have practically no further cost. Give me a shout if interested. A bientot.
Oops. Sorry. Meant to say I'll be in Brittany in September and early October. I could easily come down to Nice for good cheese and good wine. But I don't play concertina. Unfortunately, that sounds like a prerequisite. What a great offer, though. Hope someone takes you up on it.
Hi
this is my first post...what a great idea. Looking forward to exchanging views with you all.
Sounds fab! but I'm a beginner myself.
Recently I have met a couple of other concertina players, we hope to meet up every few months to have a laugh, few drinks ...and hopefully i will get better?!! Maybe she should think about meeting with others in the same way?
hi
I'm live in Brittany, and play concertina. unfortunately I can't not move down to the Alps...but if you guys ever come in Brittany, I'll be glad to meet you!!
hope you'll find someone, because it's not easy at all to learn by yourself!
Hey! im studying french in college at the moment and I have to spend a year attending college in Nice starting this september. Maybe we could organize a session or something in nice?
Hi folks,
Thanks to you all for those messages. We seem to have a bit of interest going....must be the climate here. By the way, anyone passing through this region who's interested in having a look around the mountains and sharing a tune or two is welcome provided we are around, so stay in touch anyway, concertina players or otherwise.
you might look into the tocane festival. they switch instructors every year. i believe this year's concertina teacher is the lovely michelle mulcahy.....
