does the price for each CD listed on the website INCLUDE all costs, such as post and packaging, as this is not clear on the website as far as I can see?
The short answer is no, the price given excludes shipping costs.
We do however include the VAT in our prices. I know some sites that do not.
We do not charge for packaging.
The discount code given above does take 15% from the order total, so 15% comes off the total order cost, including Shipping/Postage.
I take your sugestion on board, and figure out a way of inserting this info somehow.
There are a few glitches, as with any new site and it seems to run slow sometimes, but we are working hard to iron these issues out, to ensure a smooth service.

Why is it twice the price? Hard times are here and I'm just looking for a simple answer.
Pretty sure Amazon isn't going to have any of the independent or rare stuff I can get at Claddagh. Get the popular stuff at Amazon/iTunes/eMusic, but you'll be hard-pressed to find any new recordings of value at these outlets.
I know that, mcdevincabe. I just want to know why an identical product is twice the price. Does the popular stuff subsidise the stuff that only a few people buy? I buy a lot of CDs including independent and rare stuff. The way to sell these to more people is to keep the price down, better sell 2 at 10euro than 1 at 20euro.
ITM is a minority genre, always will be but charging extortionate prices is not the way to increase its popularity. Anybody can rattle off a few hundred CDs for not much money these days and the transfer of old recordings is not as costly as the labels would con us into believing, there again, all of you already know that, don't you?

The simple answer regarding the price of the Christy Moore is that our price is dependant upon the wholesale price. This is a Sony/Bmg release. They set the wholesale price to us, we add our margin (which is small by the way) and add the VAT. which brings it to €17.
Major label product is always expensive to us little guys, and Amazon is a huge quantity seller so they buy in bulk. Plus the free delivery is within the UK as far as i'm aware.

Yeah, I agree - if you want outlets like Claddagh Records that sell a good variety of minority interest recordings, then you've got to be prepared to pay a little more than the big companies who'll only carry more popular titles.
I publish material of another sort and I'm often fed up with the large buyers like Amazon & Eason's - they're always trying to screw the producer for the largest discount - which they then use to undercut the competition..
Still waiting for a digital download site with a decent focus on trad music. Especially if somebody were to rip the older stuff to digital, like Star Above the Garter etc.

mcdevincabe-if you convert currency and add VAT, the cd on amazon in e12.45. double that price would be e24.90.
