I just bought a new set of strings... Pirastro Evah Pirazzi. Has anyone ever played on Evah Pirazzi before? What is your opinion of their sound, playability?
I liked them - they're loud. I found them to be much less durable than the helicores, and I gave up on them finally after replacing three A strings in 2 months. I thought they sounded great though
I found them a bit edgy/bright for my taste, They will definitely liven up a dull fiddle!. I'm a confirmed gut man myself now! I couldn't go back to wire , though I do use a wire E: Pirastro eudoxa wound.
I've been using a job lot of old brass wound gut strings, Hofman and the like.
I Liked the Obligato but they were a bit dull for me! Id be tempted to something between but I will have to use my 10yrs supply of strings i have! LOL

Re: Strings
Lovely strings. Very comfortable under the fingers. Tend to be bright. Do you like them?

Re: Strings
And what do you think of them as compared to Medium Helicores? (my current set of strings)
