Its a little bit like the Galway Belle aka the 59th(?) Street polka.

Just a joke (I think), but at the Philadelphia Ceili Group festival last Saturday I heard a musicain quoting another saying that when asked the name of a polka he just played, the second musician replied, "Polkas don't deserve names!" :o)

Oh yeah, you must mean the 69th Street polka lesl--it certainly looks like that one. It refers to 69th street in Upper Darby just outside of Philadelphia--once a very Irish neighborhood.

Thanks Andee for getting the street address of this polka for me. (Sorry for delay in reply, I have'nt managed to navigate this site properly yet.) I knew this tune wasn't named after the 59th street bridge in ny but the rest of that had escaped me. Only now I wonder, who took it from Philly to Galway or vice versa ..Cheers, Lesl
