I cut slots in my IB recently with a 3mm space between the two E strings and a similar space between the two A strings, is this slot spacing within the recommended settings.
The 'standard' spacing that is always published in books is E2.7, A3.0, D3.7, G4.0, and the gaps between courses: G 9.7 D 9.5 A 9.0 E
But in practice there is always an element of 'guestimate', you can't measure to the nearest 0.1mm. So if it looks right it is fine. If it bothers you you could fill one slot with superglu and re-cut it.
I'm amazed that people are so specific as skreech states. I shall now go and check mine - as I've been making new and improved bridges for some time I might well have strayed from the recommended dimensions.
Hang on a minute !!!
I don't think people have even agreed on the right TUNING for the 'zouk. String spacings......whooooah, that's a whole other can of worms.........
