I can get all the sounds out of a keyless that I want. Keys are of limited use for the pricetag.. Also im going through a bit of an Organic phase, sandals etc. Just want a Keyless. The feel the look the play the portability. On the verge of ordering from a maker, just thought Id trawl the mustard board..
I agree with the organic feel of a keyless flute being a splendid thing. And the keys are feckin dear. And you can play 99% of it all without the keys.
But I was having a tune the other day and there was a terrific galician bag pipe player in who played a few tunes for us in amongst our usual diddling. A mate who is a really really top draw flute player found she knew a few of the tunes and went to play along, but the pipes were in C. So she transposed the tunes down a tone on the fly. The sound she got out of her flute was amazing. Especially the bottom hard C.
I have a 2008 Dave Copley keyless D in Africian Blackwood that im thinking of selling. Im based in Co. Down. Let me know if your interested and I'll send your more info.

Re: Wanted - Flute Concert D Keyless
Why do you want one with no keys? (unless it's simply a case of price of course)

Re: Wanted - Flute Concert D Keyless
Almost certainly cost. Although keys can also be a liability from the maintenance point of view - not much, just more so than keyless.
