The same Martin Tourish who used to post here?! I miss his insights into the Donegal scene. Good luck to them!

Re: New band on the block!!!!!

Was this the band you mentioned way back, Martin? Sounds like it's going great guns -- can hardly wait to hear y'all. Any chance of recordings, web sites, blah blah blah?

P.S.

Sounds like you got over not wanting to go pro, or are you still more or less against it?

Re: New band on the block!!!!!

hey again! just after posting a strathspey "Martin Wilsons" from the Donegal tradition - back in business again! (and hopefuly i'll be able to get round to doing a few more others soon) i'm not sure if i've mentioned the band before, i usually dont talk about anything i'm doing till i'm happy with it but Roger got there before me! and out of curiosity, - where did i meet you?!! i'm familiar with the song but unfortunatly not the person!!

we're still working on the c.d., most of it is done but there are a few bits and pieces left to finish off and hopefully we'l get that done at halloween when Alvaro gets back over! i'll let u know though!

at the min, i'm only 17 so professional is a long way off (and i've the leaving cert to do this year too! - eh!) but we're going to try and do the lorient festival anyhow and a few spots round ireland -here's for wishful thinking anyhow!!

talk to ye all soon,

M

Re: New band on the block!!!!!

Howya Martin!

We met in Tubbercurry too; there were a few of us - I'm the fiddler with a Manchester accent, my girlfriend Deirdre was the whistle player from Galway, and there were assorted Germans and Mayo natives with us. You kindly invited us back to the campsite for a few cans (after a session out the back of the supermarket) but we had to be away early the next morning! Just thought I'd say hello and congratulations on the CD (if it's finished - if it's not, get yer feckin arse in gear, your fans are waitin'!)

Cheers ;-)
