Have been looking forward to seeing Sharon Shannon playing in the UK over the next weeks, but have just noticed Tim Edey is playing with her instead of Jim Murray. Anyone know why?
Seamus Begley turned up at The Quiet Man last night(in Melbourne) and we had a great night of music. He's off to NZ this week to catch up with Jim Murray for some gigs.
jim has said before, that he was not a student of steves, steve just encouraged him to play nylon strings and that he was thought by one of his teachers at school.
Damn, Jim & Seamus play Lower Hutt (near Wellington New Zealand) on the 20th April, and I will be there for Easter a week prior to that. It's a seven hour drive so no chance of a return trip there a week later to catch them. Never mind - Grada are coming to my very own city (Gisborne) in May. We don't get much here so it's a big deal.
Jim Murray?

Re: Jim Murray?
He's been playing with Seamus Begley recently - maybe that's his new regular gig

(didn't know he was a student of Steve Cooney!)

Re: Jim Murray?
Awful, isn't it, a musician of Tims ability having to bash out the galway girl to earn a crust.
