There are a bunch on Lincoln Avenue and Clark street also.
John's at Nevins is really good and open to non-regulars. Itr does get a bit large occasionally. What's Great is that the session is really part Nevin's activities, not just sidelight background noise to draw people in to drink.
The Abbey and Chief O'Neils also take the music very seriously.
But be forewarned that Lincoln Avenue, and the near north bar scene are absolute zoos During the St. Patricks week or two.
All the amateurs are out drinking...and it is always said that in Chicago, on St. Patricks Day everyone is Irish-regardless of race, creed, or country of native Origin!
Chicago for St. Patrick's Day.
