I have Frankie & Alec, any other suggestions?

I have Frankie & Alec, any other suggestions?

I'm looking for more recordings of duets with bouzouki & other instruments (e.g fiddle, flute, pipes, etc).

Re: I have Frankie & Alec, any other suggestions?

Mary Custy and Eoin O'Neill - With A Lot of Help From Their Friends

Tola Custy and Cyril O'Donoghue - Setting Free

Mary Bergin (also Alec Finn) - anything but Feadóga Stáin is sublime

Tom Walsh - C:Change (featuring Foley instruments heavily)

Dual - with the excellent Eamon Doorley accompanying

Danu - Eamon again

Michael McGoldrick albums often feature fine bouzouki players, notably Manus Lunny, which leads us onto . . .

Anything with Donal Lunny on, leading to . . .

Andy Irvine - anything

Planxty and the Bothy Band - anything

De Dannan - anything as Alec Finn is here too

Cran - Anything

That's a start.

I like the above, also Ciaran Curran (who plays with Altan). He did the bouzouki work on Len Graham's album "Do Me Justice," among others.

Then there's Randal Bays (fiddle) and Roger Landes (bouzouki). "House to House" is one of their CDs.

Re: I have Frankie & Alec, any other suggestions?

YouTube is a good resource for bouzouki players, and it's worth checking out Ruben Bada (playing with John McSherry on what looks like a Sobell), Beth Patterson who plays what might be a Foley, and putting any of the above into the search box is bound to throw up some interesting clips.

Many of these are found here: http://www.irish-bouzouki.blogspot.com/

Re: I have Frankie & Alec, any other suggestions?

It seems from some previous threads some folks don't like it, but I think Matt Malloy's Black album from the 70's with Donal Lunny is a classic.
