Just back from the Kilrush festival and still trying to catch up on lost sleep. Hello to all sessioneers especially murfbox and bigdave (last seen heading for Kerry) also sheena and Greg. Great tunes and great sessions. Same again next year?
One time lost in the nether regions outside Limerick,
didn't I pick this ouldlad athumbin a ride. As he
told me we were heading towards Kilrush and there
had been some kind of a shindig there. Sure enough
there was a wee town and in it as promised, Mrs Crottys
but strange to relate, not even a lame dog anywhere
to be seen. The place felt as dead as death itself
and me client was fast shuffling off on one leg into the nether
regions through an alley way thanking me as he left.
Course that was decades ago and I suppose with
Eurisation the town is another Miami. If that
happened wheres the Cabana?
well it's hardly miami although i've never been there and would n't know but there was certainly plenty of zip to the cracking concertina playing of a young feller in the island bar on the sunday night what with the spontaneous set dancing breaking out in that pub.the place was jumping.
and it was nice to put a face to one more session person (that's you,Mike,aka murfbox)
and Niall,thanks once again for the loan of your stick which got me up to places in the mournes that would otherwise have been beyond me.probably.ooh-er,missus...
i enjoyed it anyway (the festival,that is)

Yes, a great few days in Kilrush. I think this festival is going from strength to strength. It nows runs from Wed. night to Sun. night and it wouldn
