Its crap! I know this even though it's not coming on tv for another two hours! It will consist of bad box playing and tacky fiddle playing. I will be back later to elaborate, after i watch it. This is a prediction more reliable than one of the great Nostradamus himself!! See you all later
Yes i do well spotted. I should've said in about 24 hours. Sorry i get a bit prematurely rambunctious when i know bad music is coming on the television.
BTW
Damien you could have played a lot better, didn't like the syncopated bass work and nasty triplets aren't my thing.
Frankie i just have one thing to say .... What the hell happened to you?
Aw it wasn't all that bad - certainly much better than the travesty that was the Kerry programme. OK way too much Frankie for my taste, but more playing and less showing off than is normal for him these days. Am I the only one that finds Song for Ireland really naff?
I particularly liked the bit with Noel Hill; also the piece with the Gavin family was quite good. As for the song, it's definitely been in Frankie's repertoire for some time as I remember it being sung by Mary Black with De Dannan - must have been nearly 30 years ago!
Nice to hear Frankie on the flute. Say what you like about him but he is a good fluter. Just cause Mary Black sang it doesn't make it any the less naff!
Gosh, well at least they all seem to be enjoying themselves.
Ok, I'm fed up with being non-confrontational and non-slagging. I thought I'd take a look just to see... And now I've heard. So I'm going to stop. And probably stop the tg4 window too.
Not my cup of tea so far. (Am I allowed to say that in public?)

P.S. Kanes' fiddle playing was nice enough.

Hmm, in fact I might carry on listening... out for a ciggy. (The backing to the song just started).

Re: Tonights Geantrai
Oh thank god for that, it's stopped.
In summa: generally agonising, improved by a few gems. And the gems didn't need improving by the cruddy setting. Worth hearing for the good.
Ok night night, and this time happy new year and fare thee well.
