Re: bands

im in a great band. we're from Tallaght (pronounced 'Talla') in Dublin. we call ourselves 'The Tallaght-Band'.

we dont get many gigs, especially ones that involve air travel because apparantly there is a group with a similar sounding name.

the Taliban or something weird like that...

Re: bands

I know of a band that could use a bodhran player. Take a left at the post office and keep going until you find them. They play once a month in the pub.

Re: bands

After being forced to watch a few minutes of "Celtic Women" last night, I suggest getting yourself a nice ponytail and a tight leather vest. Well, if you're a fella, that is.

Re: bands

seriously!
why cant ye just answer the poor feckers question instead of instantly launching into this sh*te thats no good to anybody, either ye have miles too much time on your hands and you feel the need to slag the fella thats actually looking to PLAY as opposed to TALK ABOUT PLAYING. nearly every answer on this page is insincere, why dont ye cop the feck on!

abrown, cant say i do know of any bands looking for a bodhran player though.

Re: bands

The "Seven Drunken Knights Ceili Band" are looking for a bodhran player.

They played at a gig last Saturday, and (as usual), partook of a little too much liquid refreshment of the alcoholic kind.

Apparently, the bodhran player fell out of the back of the van on the way back from the gig, and the rest of the band were too drunk to notice ...

... and they haven't found him yet.

Re: bands

Maybe they're not trying too hard to find him Mix O'Lydian. I feel sorry for that fellow in Tallaght though as we have a similar problem in Clare with the Tulla Band!

Re: bands

Actually Banners, they're really keen to find him - he's needed for a special "Little Drummer Boy" solo spot at their forthcoming Christmas Ceili ....

Re: bands

I suppose while the rest of the lads are enjoying a nice few tunes down at the pub!

Re: bands

You can imagine the international alerts sent out when the Tulla Band was joined on stage by Osama Ben Lennon...

Re: bands

You might try contacting Santa this year. He sometimes sub-contracts from Activision Publishing, Inc.

Word has it that Bodhran Hero is now avoidable.

Hope this helps. :)

Re: bands

I'ld just like to say, getting back to the original question, that I've never heard of a bodhran player who boasted that he could play other instruments as well !
I've known musicians who could also play the bodhran ( and spell it ) but that's another thing entirely.

Re: bands

Fishty
