To my ear the L&C violins seem loud and harsh sounding, not at all sweet and throaty like a good instrument at this price range should. I don't know if the cost can be justified. There are so many violins available in this price range or less, both new used (!) that sound a good deal better.
The L&C violas and cellos seem more appealing to the ear.

I'm on the verge of buying a Luis and Clark cf violin. Can anyone give me a good reason not to please?

Re: Luis and Clark
I don;t think I would spring for one, considering what they cost and it is hard to try one out before hand...they do not have a "trial" policy
