Seems to be a weekly discussion. I thought it was good. Some mates of mine on it, was good up until the last group which I thought were bit too fast. Any thoughts.
Same thoughts- good local musicians and then the others shipped in for the gig.Although I thought the fiddle player in the group was well able to play. Never heard of regular sessions in that pub and I live ten mins down the road
New a good few people on the show myself. Though Eithne's singing was very good, as were the first group. The last group didn't really do anything for me. Though you should here that bouzouki player on the banjo, now thats a treat.
same old, same old. producers of this programme do not believe in allowing the local people who play in the local sessions take part, obviously you have to be of recording quality to be deemed good enough. Therefore the programme is not a good example of the music in the area. We had one in Cryans last week, again, one or two locals but rest imported and some whom I never saw there or were there very occasionally. Best of all they had Lunasa on, now since when were Lunasa local musicians to Leitrim/Roscommon. There are tons of very, very good young and old musicians who live in the area and play in the pub but these were not invited!
