Advice about a stay in Galway

Advice about a stay in Galway

Hi, all. I'm taking a long weekend in Galway with the missus. I don't want to stay with friends because... I'm with the missus.

So, I'm looking for a recommendation on a good B&B for this Friday and Saturday in or around Galway.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Advice about a stay in Galway

We had a very pleasant stay with Mr. And Mrs. McDonagh at Ard Mhuir, Knocknacarra Road in Salt Hill a year or so ago. Extremely convenient to Galway Bay for walking and downtown.

Mr. McDonagh is a box player who played for years with a band I think was called Shaskeen.

But I think they had the B/B up for sale so I don't know if it is in the same hands or still a going business.

Re: Advice about a stay in Galway

A few weeks ago my brother and I stayed at the Glenariff B&B in Salthill for 7 nights. Easy walk to the pubs and restaurants in Salthill and about 20 min walk to downtown Galway. Very nice in a residential area. Margaret Brennan runs the place.

If you go, tell her I said hello.
