Great programme Martin - thanks for the "heads up". Continuo, what's wrong with 'Free State' musicians? I thought Séamus Fay was very good too as it's very rare that we get any lilting on TV. Brian McGrath was the banjo player and he's also very handy on piano as an accompanist.
Bannerman, read the two messages. I was making the point that it is blocked online to viewers outside the UK - which I thought was pretty bad form, especially given the musicians were almost all from south of the border.
It's weird fair enough, I know for things like Premiership matches they don't have rights to stream their radio coverage outside the UK, but for normal programs like this I'd always thought it was open to anybody. It was a nice shows though.

John Carty is THE best banjo player. Wish he would leave fiddle alone and only play banjo (and flute). And I am not a banjo fan!

Not a bad show, but when I went online, you can't watch the extra stuff if you're in the South. Bit of a mess that, BBC get your finger out.

Come to think of it, this was filmed in Monaghan, with mostly musicians from the 'Free State'...

The programme will probably be up on You Tube soon. Most of the other Blas Ceoil programmes have ended up there, so hopefully this one will as well.

I'm afraid there is not much Free in this State nowadays, including musicians.
