Reports from the Summer Schools!

Reports from the Summer Schools!

Hello All!
Now that Summer School season is nearly over, (with the exception of Scoil Acla that ends next week) can we have some written accounts from the participants in the various festivals? (Willie Clancy, Tubbercurry, Drumshanbo, Gaelic Roots, any others I might have missed out...) What were the highlights for you, anything interesting happening, great experiences, not-so-great experiences, general thoughts and observations etc. Or even give a detailed Day 1 to Day "n" report if you feel up to it! I would love to hear from you all!

I'm off to the Ashoken Fiddle & Dance camp next week in upstate NY. First time for me. Has anybody done that one?

Re: Reports from the Summer Schools!

Willie Clancy was as wonderful as ever and the weather made for a great week too. Excellent classes as usual and there was a beautiful book launched in Miltown this year. "A Touchstone for the Tradition" all about Willie and his peers, and the starting of the summer school. Beautiful photographs by Tony Kearns and Willie week die-hards will likely spot themselves in the fray. Well worth having.

Irish Arts Week in the Catskills was also a total blast!
