Yes. Finaly, after a much to long wait, of a week and a half my new M&E, Rudall and Rose flute arrived this morning. I can't put it down. This flutes got some honk alright. Absolutely stunning.
It's a quite wide bore, conical flute in black delrin in five parts with beautiful wide steel rings around the joints. The finger strech is very easy and it's easy to fill too and not at all picky on the embouchure. I got full, strong sounding notes from it right out of the box, despite my lack of experience. I agree with some saying that the M&E is a heavy flute but I've got no problem with it and I've been playing it all day. The tone is anywere from direct, pure, sharp and strong to sweet, soft and breathy. I can affect the overall sound of the flute in a way that I haven't experienced on any other flute. The tonal pallette is enormus and the flute is remarkably easy to play. I'm so happy.
