St Bridgets Cross

St Bridgets Cross

I've been asked to play for a ceili dance called St Bridget's Cross. Does anyone know if there is a set tune for the dance and if not, is it a jig, reel or other and how many bars? (32, 64 etc.)

John, I can't find any reference to a ceili dance by that name. Do you know if it might be known by another name??

Re: St Bridgets Cross

St Bridget's Cross can be found if you travel up from St. Ruth's Bush, straight on past the Navel.

Have a look at this page:

http://www.setdancingnews.net/news/onews38.lp. It seems to be more a movement within a set rather than a set itself.

It might be worthwhile contacting Bill Lynch (who runs the website) directly. His email address is at the bottom of every page on the site.
