The Session >> Discussions >> St Bridgets Cross
I've been asked to play for a ceili dance called St Bridget's Cross. Does anyone know if there is a set tune for the dance and if not, is it a jig, reel or other and how many bars? (32, 64 etc.)

John, I can't find any reference to a ceili dance by that name. Do you know if it might be known by another name??

St Bridget's Cross can be found if you travel up from St. Ruth's Bush, straight on past the Navel.

Have a look at this page: http://www.setdancingnews.net/news/onews38.lp. It seems to be more a movement within a set rather than a set itself. It might be worthwhile contacting Bill Lynch (who runs the website) directly. His email address is at the bottom of every page on the site.
