Hi, I am hoping to start playing the fiddle again after leaving it down for a few years. I am looking for a fiddle teacher/ group to help me get started again as I would love to eventually get involved in a regular group.
I am aware of Peter Cooper (I've seen his website), but are there any others around- I live in SW London.
Cheers, Lel
Clare's Brendan Mulkere has to be "the Daddy of them all" and has been teaching in the London area for at least three decades. I don't have any contact information for him but someone else here may be able to help - if I find anything, I'll post the details.
Brendan is both a character and a phenomenon. He's helped me a lot. Try his group classes at the Irish cultural centre in Hammersmith: http://www.irishculturalcentre.co.uk/
Brendan Mulkere is "the Daddy of them all" with regards to Comhaltas-based, competition-based, Irish (and only Irish) music.
Pete, however, is the Man if you just wanna have fun on the fiddle.

Karen Ryan is also an excellent fiddle player, and teaches I believe at the irish centre in Camden:

Karen's band's website is here - good CDs:
